It has already been officially replaced by the new international management standard on occupational health and safety, ISO 45001. BS OHSAS has been “withdrawn” as a current standard. BSI canceled BS OHSAS 18001 to adopt ISO 45001 as BS ISO 45001. ISO 45001 was published in March 2018 by the International Organization for Standardization. Organizations that are certified to BS OHSAS 18001 can migrate to ISO 45001 by March 2021 if they want to retain a recognized certification.

Alla certifikat för AFS 2001:1 och OHSAS 18001:2007 blir ogiltiga efter 2021-03-12. Det gäller att uppgradera i god tid.
